King City Prom: April 2022
The King City Prom was truly “A Night Under the Stars.” Twinkling white lights and silk linens draped the rafters of Timber Ridge Barn transforming the ceiling into an enchanted night sky. Over 300 long stem white roses and navy-blue ribbons adorned the rustic posts and tabletops. Flickering white candles floated in glass vases atop silver sequin table runners. The reflecting candlelight was reminiscent of a mirror ball, hinting to the fun that would be had on the dancefloor. It was time to party!
The evening began with a promenade of couples walking across the Timber Ridge Bridge and down the pathway to the arbor. Many parents made a brief appearance to capture photos of their loved ones dressed in gorgeous sparkly gowns and dashing tuxedos. The stunning bluff views at sunset provided the perfect backdrop.
Nearly 75 students attended the King City Prom and it’s safe to say they had a blast! Austin Blackwell with DJ Connections kept the music spinning as students danced the night away. High heels were tossed aside, and bare feet took the floor as the music grew louder and louder into the night.
The crowning ceremony of Prom Queen and King was met with excitement as two chairs were placed at the head of the dance floor. Cheers erupted as Avery Medsker and Cartner Mooney were crowned 2022 King City High School Prom Queen and King. Congratulations to you both!
To quinch their thirst, students drank tropical and fruit punch slushies served in champagne glasses. For dinner, they enjoyed a delicious home cooked meal provided by Joyce Scott, Sue Medsker, and other members of the community. Later in the evening, an ice cream bar was set up with vanilla ice cream and lots of yummy candy toppings.
Several teachers and volunteers acted as chaperones. Those included were Addie Hunter (Librarian), Anita Gilbert (Junior High Science Teacher), Tiffany Rice (Yearbook and High School English Teacher) and Kaysie Tunks (7th Grade Math Teacher).
We absolutely loved hosting King City’s Prom this year and hope to host your Prom and any other events in the future. See you soon Wildkats!
